Strategy and page planning
A practical plan covering audiences, services, search intent, page hierarchy and the route from first visit to enquiry.
Conversion-focused web design
A business website should do more than look polished. It should explain why a customer should choose you, make the next step obvious and give you a reliable platform for local growth.
Many small-business websites are treated as online brochures. They list services, show a few photographs and leave the visitor to work out what to do next. That approach wastes attention and makes marketing harder than it needs to be.
VCUK plans each website around the real action your business needs: a phone call, quote request, appointment, booking or qualified enquiry. Page structure, copy, calls to action and tracking are built around that outcome from the start.
A practical plan covering audiences, services, search intent, page hierarchy and the route from first visit to enquiry.
Plain-English copy that answers the questions a busy customer is likely to ask before making contact.
Fast, accessible layouts designed for real phones first, then expanded carefully for larger screens.
Unique metadata, internal links, structured data, crawlable content and Search Console setup.
Forms, click-to-call links, booking placeholders and event tracking so important actions are visible.
Hosting, backups, updates, security checks and a clear route for future improvements.
The website is the centre of a connected system rather than a one-off design project.
Create fast pages around your services, customer questions and strongest reasons to choose you.
Set up technical and on-page foundations, then align the website with your Google Business Profile.
Add genuine reviews, accreditations, process information and useful proof as these become available.
Measure form submissions, calls, emails, WhatsApp clicks and booking completions rather than vanity metrics.
Use real enquiries and performance data to refine pages, offers and calls to action.
Discuss goals, current problems, target customers, service areas and the most valuable enquiry types.
Agree the sitemap, priorities, content responsibilities and any information still needed.
Build reusable, accessible components and review the key page direction before completing the full site.
Test forms, metadata, links, performance, mobile layouts, redirects and analytics before launch.
Keep the website secure, accurate and commercially useful through a transparent care plan.
This service is designed for established local businesses that rely on calls, quotes, appointments or enquiries and do not have an internal marketing team. It is especially suitable when the current website feels dated, does not explain the offer clearly or cannot show whether it contributes to sales.
A simple starter site may be enough for a sole trader with a narrow service range. A business covering several services or locations usually benefits from the deeper Standard structure.
Many enquiries start with a site that already exists but no longer works hard: old branding, slow on phones, vague copy or no clear route to enquire. A refresh can often achieve more than a full rebuild, and usually costs less.
The right refresh depends on what is actually holding the site back. Sometimes it is structure and copy, sometimes performance and mobile layout, sometimes the Google Business Profile and local visibility around it.
Launch is the beginning of useful measurement, not the end of the project. The care plan keeps the technical basics under control. Businesses that want more visibility can then add Google Business Profile support, local SEO, review-generation help, useful content or advertising.
The client owns approved written content and supplied assets. Ownership of the completed website transfers after the agreed initial payment period. There are no surprise release fees.
Search rankings, traffic and lead volumes cannot be guaranteed. Results depend on competition, demand, location, website history and consistent ongoing activity.
Common questions
The One-page starts at £350 or £42 per month. Starter is £950–£1,300 or from £97 per month, Standard is £1,500–£1,900 or from £148 per month, and Custom starts from £2,250 or £216 per month. Paying monthly costs more overall (around 10% plus mandatory hosting) — it's the trade-off for spreading the cost. Upfront is the cheaper route if you can. Final figures settle after a short scope conversation. Extra functionality is quoted clearly before work starts.
A focused five-page site will often take around four to six weeks once the required information is available. Larger sites commonly take six to ten weeks. The final schedule depends on content, feedback and integrations.
Yes. Approved written content and supplied assets remain yours, and the completed website transfers after the 12th monthly payment (or once an upfront build is paid). On upfront plans, hosting is not included free — choose a care plan or arrange hosting separately. On monthly plans, hosting is part of the mandatory £10/mo fee for all 12 months — stop paying and the site pauses. Care is always optional.
Usually, yes. Access to the current registrar and DNS settings will be needed. Domain ownership is not transferred without your approval.
Copy support depends on the chosen build scope. Starter covers basic support, while Standard and Custom allow more room for enquiry-focused service content. Specialist, regulated or highly technical content may need close input from your team.
